Aerospace

Our roots extend to the 1950's when then, Edmunds Manufacturing Company served as a strategic vendor to the likes of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (now a division of United Technologies), Avco Lycoming Engines, Sikorsky Helicopter, and Chandler Evans. In our early days, Edmunds not only provided precise cylindrical and functional gaging for numerous tight tolerance applications, we also served as a large diameter precision grinding and hard chrome-plating vendor to most of these companies.

Automotive

Edmunds Gages has a long history of measuring many components in the automotive industry. Whether the engine, transmission, chassis, assembly, interior parts or safety components, Edmunds Gages has provided solutions to numerous applications. As we look to alternative energy sources to fuel our transportation needs, Edmunds Gages continues to adapt our knowledge and experience in helping manufacturers find effective measurement solutions to these demanding new disciplines.

Bearings

Our New England roots have allowed Edmunds Gages to grow with many of the famous leaders in the bearing industry like Fafnir, New Departure and Barden. If something turns, it is most likely supported upon a bearing that originated near our home in Connecticut. Ball, thrust, tapered, main, split, roller, and needle type bearings are just a few of the many bearing types that have been accurately measured using the reliability of Edmunds Gages.

Compressor

Refrigeration and the process of compressing air and fluids are two of the most common industries in which to find dimensional measurement. The worlds leading compressor manufacturers have relied upon the expertise of Edmunds Gages for cost saving, process control solutions for decades. Today, as efficiency becomes a critical component of compressor function, the tightening of component tolerances within these units dictate the needs for the accuracies and precision of Edmunds Gages.

GD&T

The industry standard ANSI Y14.5 has provided a common means for engineers to describe the geometric variables and tolerance methods of manufactured goods. Machine Tools

We have come a long way since our ancestor's powered multiple lathes within a manufacturing facility with the use of a water wheel and overhead belts and pulleys. One thing that has increased in the development of today's powerful and accurate machine tools is the need for precise, repeatable gaging to measure the extreme tolerances that result from machining technology of the 21st century. Edmunds Gages have been used in production and process control applications and have been instrumental in allowing continued throughput to some of the toughest and tightest tolerance requirements.

Munitions

From the Patriot Missile Defense Systems to the common 30-caliber rifle, Edmunds Gages has helped many famous munitions makers get their manufacturing process in control with the use of dimensional measurement. Our long history with nearby strongholds of the industry such as Colt Firearms, Smith & Wesson, Marlin Firearms, and Raytheon have lead to our engineers recognizing the need in the process and the application of gaging to solve the daunting tasks associated with producing these armaments.

Medical / Other

Edmunds Gages have been applied to numerous products and components in a variety of markets and industries. From food preparation systems, computer drives, glass container fabrication, orthopedic implant devices or animal vaccination dispensing applicators, dimensional measurement plays an important role in the development, manufacture and implementation of all these various processes and products, with Edmunds Gages involvement lending a hand.
